BRYC is pleased to open Youth Racing  for 2026-27 season.  

This program is focused on building skills and confidence on the Race Course.   

Our group is aged 12- 17 and you will be confident on the water with some experience racing.

Ideally you will have your own boat or be thinking about ownership in the near future.  

We welcome youth sailors from all classes and commonly have: Optimists, Open Skiffs, Aeros, Lasers, WASZPs, Sabres, Pacers, Feva, and 125s.

You will be responsible for getting your boat rigged and ready for racing. 

This group is lead by an AS qualified dinghy instructor and will partcipate in club racing events. 

Racing Skills and Master classes will be conducted on shore before racing or when weather prevents racing.

All attendees must become Junior Cadet Members  ($160)

Fees for the  Youth Racing group are $295 for the 12 week season. 

Sessons run from 12:30pm to 4:00pm . No sailing on public holiday weekends.

What to bring:

• Wetsuit, Booties, Gloves  and wind jacket (it can be cold) 
• Your dinghy
• Water bottle, 
• Hat and sunscreen
• Towel and change of clothes (if you arrive in your wetsuit) 
• PFD

Program Focus:

The Intermediate Fleet Program includes scheduled and regular coaching. Allowing you to practice and race in club and class association programs at clubs.

At Intermediate Fleet level you may remain active- for-life, and enjoy lifelong activity which can cross multiple disciplines, and class of boat or board. 

During the Intermediate Fleet Program, there is continued freesail opportunity to support further enjoyment in the sport and environment.
