BOWS 10km Classic Marathon swim

Located at Black Rock Yacht Club, this is a fantastic event for experienced and new open water swimmers.

You can use this event to assist qualifying for various events like 'U24', 'Rotto', 'Port 2 Pub', Great Keppel Island, etc., as long as you wear FINA-approved swimwear and no assisted equipment is used. NOTE: buoyancy shorts DO count as wetsuit attire

Distance & Entry Fees:

All distances are Individual Wetsuit or Non-Wetsuit / Assisted. Assisted can be, wetsuit, fins, etc
Entry fee will include swim cap, tshirt & bbq brekky

Event Day Details:

When:	Sunday, 11th January 2026
Check-in:	45mins before your swim start time
Start Times:	10km	7:00am - Non Wetsuit	7:10am - Wetsuit
	5km	7:30am - Non Wetsuit	7:40am - Wetsuit
	2.5km	8:00am - Non Wetsuit	8:10am - Wetsuit

Cut Off Times:	10km swimmers, need to commence 4th lap by 3hrs 5mins AFTER 10km non-wetsuit start time. If the last lap hasn’t been commenced by the cut off time, swimmers will be directed to the finish line and given a 7.5km time.
Presentation:	Solo 10km swimmers non-wetsuit category only are eligible for the Melissa Roberts Perpetual Trophies (1st male / 1st female)

10km 4 laps
5km 2 laps
2.5km 1 lap

All 10km individual swimmers must swim through a feeding station channel on each 2.5km lap. Water and Gatorade will be provided at the feeding station. If you prefer, bring personalised feeds in your own feeding bags. These will be placed on the beach or on a floating pontoon. Your feed bags need to be easily identifiable.

NO personal kayaker / boat support allowed on or around the course.

Race Timing:	Tomato Timing will be our official time keepers. Results will be posted on their official website as well as Black Rock Yacht Club website. (nb: lost timing bands will cost swimmer $110 + GST).
Coffee:	Will be available from 6am for $5. Cash and card accepted.
