Our junior learn to sail program is called "Team BRYC".
It is a 12 Week program running on Saturday mornings from 9 am - 12:00.
Suitable for beginner and intermediate level.
We use the club Optimists to learn the basics of sailing, build confidence and have fun on the water.
The program includes learning how to rig a boat, launching, tacking up wind (beat), sailing across the wind (reaching) and down wind (run).
The sessions are run by qualified dinghy instructors. Children with private boats are welcome to join.
This is a family participation activity. All parents are asked to help with running of the sessions on a rotational basis. No sailing or on-water experience of parents is required as there are land tasks (e.g. cooking BBQ) required.
We finish our sailing mornings with a fun social BBQ every Saturday!
We’re building friendships and bonds to encourage kids to keep sailing for many years and be proud of their own achievements.
Register here and pay to secure your spot for the season.
The club provides all the boats and safety equipment. Other general details can be found on our webstite.
