Black Rock Yacht Club is hosting a Discover Sailing Day on Sunday 8^th November 2026.

Join us to find out why Black Rock is such a wonderful place to learn to sail and enjoy the best of bayside fun. 

Sign up for a short sail with an experienced sailor (weather permitting), have a look around the club facilities, have BBQ sausage and find out about the programs and sailing courses offered at BRYC. 

Complete this registration form to add your name to the list if you wish to try sailing and we can save you a spot.    

There is something for the whole family and even kids as young as five years old can sail (when accompanied by a parent or guardian). People of all abilities are welcome. 

PARKING:

Parking at Half Moon Bay is paid parking unless you have a Bayside Parking permit.   Do not park in the trailor parking unless you have a trailer. Free parking can be found in the neighbouring streets with a short walk down to the Club House : Bayview Cresent,  Bent Parade, Middleton St. Additional paid is available on the Red Bluff area opposite Love St. 

Discover Sailing Day is free to attend and all our boats and safety equipment is provided by the club.

All you need to bring is clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting wet, sun screen and a hat. Shoes with non-marking soles are preferred. Crocs are ok.

Ever wondered what it’s like to go sailing? Join us for a Discover Sailing Day and experience the thrill of being on the water while exploring your local sailing club.

• No experience needed – just bring your sense of adventure
• Perfect for families, friends, and anyone curious about sailing
• Friendly club members will be there to welcome you and answer questions

Prerequisite: For safety reasons, participants must be confident in and around the water.

By the end of the day, you’ll have:

• Experienced sailing firsthand
• Discovered the fun and community spirit of your local club
• Learned about exciting courses, activities, and ways to keep sailing
