Our junior learn to sail program is calle "Team BRYC".  It is a 12 Week program running on Saturday mornings from 9 am - 12:30.

Suitable for beginner and intermediate level.  We use the club Optimists to learn the basics of sailing, build confidence and have fun on the water.

The program includes learning how to rig a boat, launching, tacking up wind (beat), sailing across the wind ( reaching) and down wind (run).

The sessions are run by qualified dinghy instructors. Children with private boats are welcome to join.

This is a family participation activity.   All parents are asked to help with running of the sessions on a rotational basis. No sailing or on-water experience of parents is required as there are land tasks (e.g. cooking BBQ) required.

We finish our sailing mornings with a fun social BBQ.

We’re building friendships and bonds to encourage kids to keep sailing for many years and be proud of their own achievements.

Program Focus:

Green Fleet is an introduction to coaching and learning to train.

Green Fleet promotes practicing the fundamental skills of sailing, introduces some foundation race skills through training activities in an environment that is enjoyable, without a competition focus.
